We all have ideas every day. We often discard many of them as being silly or of no value. However, some of our ideas we actually like and think about developing. It may be an idea for a new business, home improvement, personal development or even health and fitness. The key for me is to act on these ideas. Since I love stories, some of ideas relate to stories. I have been journaling for years. I write about things that I observe, things that I think about, things that I feel, things that frustrate me, things that I would like to change and most importantly, things that I am passionate about. As a result of journaling, I decided to develop stories about some of the things that interested me and made me think. The works, as I call them intrigued me and made me want to write.

Late Night Mournings is the story of a family run funeral business. Since I grew up in a family run funeral business, I have some personal experience in this area. While many of the scenes depicted in the pilot script, that is attached, are fictional, they could have happened. The best part of writing about something that you experienced is that you can change the outcome or add new twists to a story.

Parnsworth the Penguin is a fable that was based on the Cuban exile experience. There is a moral lesson in Parnsworth.

Boy With a Secret is the story that addresses an issue that affects many young people, eating disorders. The thing that interested me about this story was the fact that most people think that eating disorders only affect women.  Having played competitive sports for most of my young life, I was exposed to many male athletes that were obsessed with their weight. For example, I saw wrestlers who would wear full body suits and take laxatives the day before a meet in order to make weight. Our society has not paid much attention to men with eating disorders.

I have many other stories that I am working on and I hope to be able to share them soon.
