I am a husband, a father, a brother and a son. I am a friend, a colleague  and a counselor. We are so many things and we often do not take the  time to think about how diverse we are.  When I ask many people to tell me about themselves, they usually start by telling me what they do for a living. While that is important, it is only one part of the complete person that makes up each of us.  A few years ago, I read a book that challenged me to write my own eulogy. It was one of the most difficult things that I have ever done. It made me look to the past, consider the present and try to create a memorable future. Although I practice law for a living, I never mentioned that in the eulogy that I composed. I talked about my wife, my children and many of my greatest accomplishments, none of which included how many hours I worked or how much money I made. I talked about my legacy, which included those things that lived on after me. I talked about the things that made me feel alive. Writing is one of those things.

in summary, I am a creative being who wants to make a difference.
